Cameron’s success boosts advisers’ pay

PR Week reports that, thanks to the recent Tory resurgence top Conservative advisers have added more than £20,000 to their “market value” over the past few months.

With it looking more and more likely that the Conservatives will win the next general election, following labours crushing defeat in local elections, and Cameron’s success in the Crewe by-election, PR and public affairs agencies are now crawling over each other to sign up a top Tory.

Speaking to PR Week, one public affairs agency head said: ‘There are a small number of people close to Cameron and Osborne, and everyone wants a piece of them. We are talking here about senior heavyweight figures - not ex-parliamentary aides who once worked for some backbench MP. But these people are now asking for £20, 0000 or £30, 000 more than what they would have been worth at Christmas. They have effectively added over £20,000 to their value over the past few months.’

Are there the same “heavyweight figures” that told PoliticsHome that PMs don’t get paid enough?
